England will be aiming to win their maiden World Cup crown when they lock horns against a spirited New Zealand side in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 final at Lord's on Sunday. At the same time, even the Black Caps will be eyeing their maiden world title after luck had eluded them in the previous edition. The hosts have reached the finals on three occasions in 1979, 1987 and 1992 respectively but ended up faltering at the final hurdle.

Coming back to the summit clash, there was a standout moment which took place in the second innings which included Lockie Ferguson's special effort to dismiss Eoin Morgan. It happened in the 24th over of England's run chase which was bowled by James Neesham. On the very first delivery, Neesham bowled a widish delivery outside off stump as the English skipper went for a big slash. The ball went up in the air and at the first instance, it appeared that it would land safely. However, Ferguson, who was stationed at deep, ran and put in an outstanding dive to take a spectacular catch.

The umpires wondered whether it was a clean catch and the matter went to the third umpire. Replays suggested that the pacer had cleanly held on to the catch.
