'They are winning the final': T20 World Cup 2024 winner has been named; Is it India, SA, AFG or ENG?

With the culmination of the Super 8 stage, all eyes will be locked into the semifinal stage of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024 as four teams have made it into the second last stage of the marquee competition. With India all set to end their decade-old title drought, England will aim to defend their title. On the other hand, an undefeated South Africa will lock horns with a determined Afghanistan, who thrashed two powerhouses to reach the semis for the first time. As the tournament reaches a pivotal juncture, debate have erupted on who will take the coveted title home. Amid the chatter, a former Australian spinner has laid put his ultimate pick to lift the trophy this year.

Brad Hogg predicts the ICC Men's T20 World Cup winner, says the team has good spin options and is a strong side 

During an appearance at the Sta Sports Press Show, Australian spin icon Brad Hogg revealed his top choice for the T20 World Cup title winners. Hogg believes 2024 will be the year of South Africa as the Aiden Markram-led side will lift their maiden ICC title.  

"They are just spawning from here. It's amazing. I regard Hendricks as well, I really like him as a player. And then you've got to build a wall, they can build a nice spin. Especially with Klassen. I expect him to do really well against Afghanistan and get to the finals.

"I think it is going to be South Africa and we have got a really strong squad, good spin with Shamsi and Maharaj. I don't plan on the big nations now, and I think they'll have to go out there and play it out again instead and just have that confidence to go with the final side. For me, if I get past that semi-final right, South Africa is going to win the final this year," Hogg said in the Star Sports Press Room Show.

South Africa, led by Aiden Markram, has been nothing less than a powerhouse as they have dominated throughout the competition and have defeated top teams like England, Bangladesh, Nepal, Netherlands, USA. The Proteas will not face the Rashid Khan-led Afghanistan, and it will not be a cakewalk as the team will be determined to reach the final and lift the title. Nevertheless, it will be a historic irrespective of which team advances into the competition.
