Following Pakistan's exit, captain Babar Azam has faced significant trolling on social media. A video of Babar confidently asserting that Pakistan would not only finish in top four but also win T20 World Cup 2024 has gone viral. This overconfidence has drawn comparisons to Congress MP Rahul Gandhi, known for his optimistic but often unrealistic statements.

Babar Azam was sacked as captain of Pakistan men's cricket team after ODI World Cup 2023 in India last year. Pakistan's campaign didn't turn out to be as expected, leing to Babar's removal, Shaheen Shah Afridi was named captain of team in T20 format.
