England led by Jos Buttler are heading into the T20 World Cup 2024 in USA and West Indies as the defending champions. However, they still have a point to prove given their woeful showing in the ODI Cricket World Cup 2023 where the were knocked out in the league phase despite being the defending champions and one of the favourites.
Hence for the three lions a lot is at stake at this year's T20 World Cup as they want to continue their dominance in the format. Their squad for the world cup features stalwarts from their winning campaign back in 2022 in Australia along with some new faces. Before digging into their strongest XI, let's take a look at their squad for the World Cup.

There will be no Ben Stokes for England in the T20 World Cup this time round but that should not be an issue for them as he has been out of T20Is for quite some while now and the team has adapted well in his absence.

This squad gives England the best chance to defend their title in 2024. The additions of Phil Salt and Will Jacks in the batting lineup will be a huge boost to the team. In the bowling department the return of Jofra Archer is expected to be a huge factor for the side. However, there are concerns over the fitness of Liam Livingstone and England will want to make sure their star batter is fine.
England will open their T20 World Cup campaign against Scotland on June 4th before they face their eternal rivals Australia in the group B fixture on 8th June. They will face Oman and Namibia in their remaining two group stage matches.
