Australia win back-to-back after initial blows

After an early slump, 5-time World Cup winners Australia are back to winning ways. Following a near-tidy victory against Sri Lanka, Australia made the most of the batting-friendly conditions at the Chinnaswamy stadium and transferred all to the pressure to the other side. Openers Mitchell Marsh and David Warner both registered a ton to lay the foundation for a big total. While the 259-run first-wicket stand gave the remaining batters the freedom to come out and score freely, the unlikely collapse took place. However, Warner kept on going and despite the support from the other end was lacking the left-hander resorted to attack and ended up scoring 163 off just 124 balls, which guided Australia to the score of 367.

Warner admits the role IPL played in his career

Warner was adjudged the man of the match for his spectacular innings, and in the post-match presentation, he credited his IPL stint, particularly with Sun Risers Hyderabad, for success in the white-ball formats.

"I think that's where in T20 cricket, I've learned a little bit as well to change my gears, especially in IPL. I learned a lot when I was playing for Sunrisers that you're able to have a lot more time than you think. And I think playing on these surfaces specifically, you know, if you give yourself time at the back end, you can actually score big," said David Warner (via icc-cricket.com).

"And that's what I felt today. I look to try and get to 35 overs and then from there, try and put my foot down if I'm still in. So, yeah, it's probably in the back of your mind, you've got a lot more time," he added.
