David Warner has a 'Passing the Torch' moment with AUS trailblazer as his International career ends

As David Warner retires, the star-batter seemingly passes the baton of the legacy to a rising Aussie cricketer as his International career comes to an end.

After Australia's exit from the T20 World Cup, it marked the end of an era as one of the side's most prolific batters, David Warner, silently capped off his International career. While he played his final ODI Match in the World Cup final against India, the opening batter for Cricket Australia played in T20Is for the last time. Australia's hopes were hanging in the beam and were rooting for Bangladesh to win. But with their exit, it was the end of the Aussies' run. As Australia enjoyed some quiet time after the culmination of their T20 World Cup run, Warner shared an unexpected image as he was seen with a prodigy for the side down under.

David Warner seemingly passes the torch to upstart AUS batter, shares image

The national cricket team of Australia is rejoicing in the Caribbean and having some relaxing hours after they were officially knocked out of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024. With them being knocked out, it was also the end of the legendary David Warner's international career. The star Aussie opener has already retired from the Tests and ODI and with the culmination of their T20WC run, Warner's run in International T20Is also come to an end. As the Australian steps down, he may have already passed the torch to another player, who can take the legacy forward in Australian Cricket.

David Warner shared a post as he had some drinks with a fellow Australian compatriot and someone who has the capacity to take the legacy as an opening batter forward. David Warner shared a picture with the upstart Australia cricketer, Jake Fraser-McGurk as they enjoyed some beer in the Caribbean.

Warner shared the image on the social media platform Instagram on Stories, and he captioned it, "All yours now champion."

While David Warner has retired from most of the cricket formats, he did, however, leave the possibility open for a return to the Champions Trophy the following year, stating that Australia could use his services if necessary.

Warner would have liked to finish his T20I cricket career with a victory, but Australia was unable to go past the Super 8 round. The Australian opener will carry on with his franchise career and is anticipated to return to India for the IPL with the Delhi Capitals in 2019.
