David Warner issues perfect response to Mohammad Kaif for saying Australia didn't deserve to win

Australia's ODI World Cup triumph has seen various responses from around the world. The Pat Cummins led Aussies tamed down the Indian team on their home soil as they recorded a sixth World Cup title. It didn't look as convincing as it should have but they had the last laugh.

Mohammad Kaif makes a massive statement on Australia's World Cup title

It was expected to be a smooth affair for the men in Blue but the Australians emerged out as the dominant side as Travis Head's brilliant century paved the stage for them. However, Former Indian cricketer and eminent commentator Mohammad Kaif had a different view. On Star Sports, the 42-year-old insisted despite Australia laying their hands on the Cup India were the better side in the World Cup. 

“Congratulations to Australia but I am not ready to accept that the best team won the World Cup. This Indian team has been the best side. They would win so many times playing against the same Australian team, even though they lost today. It was one of those bad day, this happens sometimes," Mohammad Kaif had said.

David Warner hit back at Mohammad Kaif

Now, the Aussie opener David Warner has shut down Mohammad Kaif as he claimed teams playing on the field matter the most rather than teams that are strong on paper. Replying to Kaif on X he posted, “I like MK, issue is it does not matter what’s on paper. At the end of the day you need to perform when it matters. That’s why they call it a final. That’s the day that counts and it can go either way, that’s sports. 2027 here we come."

Australia will now shift its attention to the T20I series they are scheduled to play against India from November 23 onward.
