Virat Kohli's former RCB teammate backs him up to go guns blazing in the T20 WC final

Former Caribbean and Royal Challengers Bengaluru star, Chris Gayle, opened up on Virat Kohli's form in the T20 World Cup. He affirms that despite his poor run, one cannot keep him out of the picture in a high-stakes clash like the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024 Final.

"These things happen to superstars or world-class players such as Virat. We know how dominant he has been in previous World Cups. A bat patch, it can happen to anybody. But the good thing about it. He is in the final, and sometimes big players can be called upon and step up and win the actual game for the team as well.

"So you cannot write off a player like Virat Kohli without a doubt. We know how special he is, so we just have to wait and see what he delivers tomorrow," Caribbean cricket legend Chris Gayle said during a press conference.

Not just Gayle, but even the team's opposition was backing Virat Kohli. South Africa skipper Aiden Markram acknowledged that Kohli is a great player and that cricket is a game of ups and downs.

Despite Kohli's lack of form, India has remained in the top spot as they have been guns blazing in all their departments. But they will be up for a challenge when they face a hungry and undefeated Aiden Markram-led South Africa at the Kensington Oval in Bridgetown, Barbados.
