BAN vs SL: Angelo Mathews scrips unwanted record

For the past few years, the 'spirit of cricket' has been brought into a lot of limelight, mostly due to 'mankading' which has now been converted into an official dismissal. But the 'spirit of the game' debate is here to say and Bangladesh have just added more fuel to the raging fire. In the ongoing Sri Lanka vs Bangladesh CWC 2023 encounter, Sri Lanka star Angelo Mathews was sent back to the dressing room before even he could face a ball. Mathews failed to meet the stipulated time of 3 minutes for a new batter to arrive to the crease and hence was adjudged dismissed. This ploy by the Bangladesh skipper has been facing a lot of flak.
