CWC 2023: India ride high on Kohli, Gill and Iyer show

The greatest thing so far in this World Cup has been the manner in which India's batting and bowling both have clicked. The middle order looks settled and they are hungry to get runs for their teams if the big boys such as Rohit and Virat fail. Unfortunately, both Gill and Virat missed on their respective ODI tons, but their stand of 189 runs solidified India's position in this clash. Interestingly, Shreyas Iyer who has been struggling to put bat to ball played a quickfire innings of 82 from 56 deliveries. Iyer too missed out on his century but he will be relieved after the contribution that he made. Courtesy of Gill, Kohli and Iyer's show, India finished on 357/8 after their quota of 50 overs.

Shami Siraj and Bumrah: The blue musketeers of pace

With 357 on board, India were always the favourites to win the match, but the Indian pacers had different ideas altogether. Jasprit Bumrah made a statement as he dismissed Pathum Nissanka on the very first ball of the Sri Lankan innings. Just before Sri Lanka could get a hang of things, they were reduced to 22/7 and were already left far behind. India wrapped the Lankans up for just 55 runs. The ‘men in blue’ easily won this encounter by 302 runs
