Some of these fans were seen holding a poster as a heartfelt gesture of their love and respect for the renowned South African cricketer, who has since retired from the sport. The incident took place at the Wankhede stadium in Mumbai on Saturday, October 21. De Villiers is not part of the Cricket World Cup 2023 in any capacity. He is presently analysing games for his YouTube channel from his home in South Africa.
