Witnessing the one-sided win of South Africa in the T20 World Cup 2024, Vaughan seemingly hinted that the AFG vs SA semi-final should have been held in Guyana rather than the India vs England semi, which is booked to feature there. He further quoted that the tournament is set up for India which is unfair for other teams.

There is a huge rain threat on the match. Moreover, there is no provision for a reserve day attached to the contest. Thus, courtesy of India finishing top in the Group 1 standings in the Super 8 stage, they will advance to the final if the rain completely washes out the match.
