India veteran Ravi Shastri awards Rishabh Pant with the Best Fielder award and extols his return to International cricket
Team India bowling coach T Dilip hosted the dressing room's best fielder medal ceremony, and they had a special man coming down to present the medal to the one who won the award. After he announced the contenders for the award, he brought in the legendary Team India cricketer Ravi Shastri to hand out the medal. Shastri presented the award to wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant for being an absolute mayhem behind the stumps. he also reflected on how miraculous it is to see Pant rebound after the horrific car accident he suffered in December 2022.
"I had tears in my eyes when I read about his accident, and when I saw him in the hospital, it was even worse. Then for him to come back from there, be back in the A-zone playing one of the biggest games of all time, India vs Pakistan, is heartwarming.
“Batting, everybody knew. What you're capable of, the x-factor you have. But your wicketkeeping and the range of movement that you've got so quickly back in after the operation is a tribute of how much you've worked hard. Not just for yourself, but it's an inspiration to millions around the globe that from adversity, from the jaws of death, you can snatch a win as well,” Ravi Shastri said while in the India dressing room after the win vs Pakistan.
