Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have extended their status as national legends after guiding India to it's much awaited World Cup glory as India beat South Africa by 7 runs in the T20 World Cup 2024 final at Kensington Oval in Barbados.
Post becoming victory, both Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli announced their retirement from T20I cricket. As the duo bows out from the format as World Champions, Rohit Sharma's mother had a priceless message on her son's bond with Virat Kohli.

Rohit Sharma's mother, Purnima Sharma took to Instagram to celebrate her son's success to bring back the World Cup trophy to India as a captain.
In an Instagram post, Purnima Sharma shared a post of Rohit Sharma carrying her daughter on his shoulders and Virat Kohli alongside him celebrating with the T20 World Cup trophy.
In the post, Rohit's mother describes the bond between Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma as ‘GOAT duo in T20 Cricket’.
Rohit Sharma's wife Ritika Sajdeh writes Heartfelt note on his retirement
It has been an incredibly emotional time for Rohit Sharma and family since India won the T20 World Cup and Rohit Sharma announced his retirement from the format.
Rohit Sharma's wife Ritika Sajdeh took to Instagram and shared a heartfelt not to hail her husband's career and achievements for the 'Men in Blue' in the format.
“Ro, I know what this has meant to you. This format, this cup, these men, this journey and this entire process of getting what you’ve always dreamed of. I know how hard these last few months have been for you. I know the toll it’s taken on your heart, mind and body but watching you achieve your dream was incredibly emotional and inspiring,” wrote Ritika Sajdeh.
“As your wife, I am immensely proud of what you’ve achieved and the impact you’ve had on this game and the people who love it; but as someone who loves your game I’m sad to see you leave any part of it behind”, wrote Ritika Sajdeh.
Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli will continue to play for India in ODIs and Tests and their next big assignment will be to retain the Border Gavaskar in Australia this year.
