Revenge has been officially served by Team India after they defeated Australia. The Men in Blue have narrowed the Mitchell Marsh-led side's chances to advance into the semifinal as they bank upon Bangladesh to reach the semifinal. The Rohit Sharma onslaught was in the showcase as mauled some of the opposition's finest bowlers despite the team losing out on their star player, Virat Kohli, on a duck. India remains undefeated in the competition, courtesy of the skipper's unfathomable tempo and spectacular knock. After the match, the Indian captain opened up on the mantra he had as he faced Australia in the Super 8.

Rohit Sharma was adjudged with the Player of the Match award for his spectacular knock with the bat as he mauled his opposition. At the post-match presentation ceremony, Rohit Sharma revealed the intention that he had in mind as he aided the Indian Cricket Team to edge ahead in the competition.

“I told you in my last post-match presentation, too, that 50s and 100s don't matter to me. I want to bat with the same tempo play shots whenever necessary and put pressure on the bowlers.

"You want to carry on and get the big score, yes, but you also want to keep the bowler guessing on where the next shot will come. And that's something I managed to do today. I managed to access all areas, and not just one side of the field,” Rohit said in the post-match presentation.

The Indian skipper was an absolute beast with the bat and the middle order aided him big-time after Virat Kohli and Rishabh Pant lost their wickets early. Virat's form continues to take a plunge, but that did not detail the team's momentum as Arshdeep went big with the ball and scalped three wickets. Jasprit Bumrah took care of Travis Head, Kuldeep Yadav took two scalps and Axar got one as they halted the Australians before they could reach the target.

Team India will now face England in the semifinal of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024.
