Mohammed Siraj staked his claim for the Indian dressing room's ‘Best Fielder’ award thanks to his catch during India's Group A game against the USA on Wednesday, June 12. Siraj executed a stunning catch along the boundary line to dismiss USA's Nitish Kumar in the 15th over of the T20 World Cup 2024 contest. This pivotal moment helped Arshdeep Singh end Nitish's threatening innings on the much-discussed Nassau County Stadium pitch in New York.

Mohammed Siraj pulls off stunning flying catch
Arshdeep Singh, returning for his second spell, made an immediate impact by removing Nitish Kumar, who was batting on 27 from 22 balls. Arshdeep challenged Nitish with a short ball, which the USA batter pulled towards the deep square-leg boundary. Initially, it seemed like the ball would clear the boundary for six. However, Mohammed Siraj perfectly judged the trajectory and held onto the catch.
Positioned a few yards inside the boundary line, Mohammed Siraj backpedaled skillfully and secured the catch before falling back, ensuring he didn't touch the boundary rope and maintained control over his momentum.

India vs USA, T20 World Cup 2024
Arshdeep Singh hardly took his foot off the pedal enjoying career-best figures of 4/9 as India restricted co-hosts United States of America to a manageable 110 for 8 in a Group ‘A’ encounter of the T20 World Cup here on Wednesday.
After a couple of gallant batting performances in their back-to-back victories, the USA batters found Indian pace attack a few notches above in terms of class and quality.
There was hardly a phase of play when the hosts would have felt the noose being loosened around their necks.
