T20 World Cup 2024 Points Table: Updated standings after the West Indies defeat Afghanistan

The group stage of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024 has officially ended after the conclusion of the West Indies vs Afghanistan series. The co-hosts Windies ended their group stage with an undefeated streak after they defeated Afghanistan, who failed to reach the target. Despite their loss, the Afghans have still qualified for the Super 8 stage and will head further into the competition. Check out the final points table after the WI vs AFG clash.

Group A

India is first in Group A after putting on a strong performance, followed by the USA in second place, who will advance to the Super 8. Ireland is struggling at the bottom, and Canada and Pakistan are fighting in the middle. India's recurrent wins demonstrate their dominance, but the USA's unexpected showing keeps them competitive.

Group B

With a flawless record, Australia commands Group B and displays their impressive form. Scotland and England are next, both putting on excellent shows but up against fierce opposition. Rounding out the group are Namibia and Oman, both of whom struggle to stay up with the best teams. Australia is unique in that they are the first side to qualify for the Super 8, but ENG has qualified with a higher NRR following their victory against Scotland today.

Group C

Afghanistan and the West Indies are the two strongest competitors in Group C, both of whom have demonstrated outstanding achievements. Third-place New Zealand is a promising but inconsistent team. At the bottom of the group, Uganda and Papua New Guinea are having difficulty competing against the more experienced sides. WI and AFG made it to the S8.

Group D

With a perfect record, South Africa is in the lead in Group D, proving their superiority. Bangladesh comes next, displaying a spirit of competition and strong work. Sri Lanka is confronted with difficulties at the bottom, while the Netherlands and Nepal struggle for the middle ground. South Africa's unbeaten run sets a high standard for the group.
