Rashid Khan further elaborated that the win was set up by the Afghanistan openers and batters as it wasn't an easy wicket to score on.
“It wasn’t an easy wicket to score on but they (the openers) took it deep. It’s a great win and a great feeling to lead this win against New Zealand. Anything 160-170 that we score on these wickets then we are going to have a chance with out bowlers. The seamers and the spinners started well – especially Nabi. If we use our skills it will be very hard for the opponents to score runs," concluded Rashid Khan.
Afghanistan will feel great about their victory as they start their T20 World Cup campaign in spectacular fashion and two wins on trot and four points on the board. They will now face Papua New Guinea in their next fixture before facing the hosts West Indies. As for New Zealand they will quickly want to move on from this result and look ahead in what could be a tricky group for them.
