India and England are slated to play in the second semifinal of the current T20 World Cup 2024. On Thursday, June 27, the eagerly anticipated match is scheduled to occur at Providence Stadium located in Guyana.  This game is a relive of the 2022 T20 World Cup semi-final, in which England defeated Pakistan in the championship match to win the title after humiliating India with a 10-wicket loss. When the side led by Rohit Sharma plays England again today, they would want to get back at them.

Ambati Rayudu made a huge statement ahead of the India vs England semifinal match in the T20 World Cup

Ambati Rayudu, a former Indian cricketer, has voiced his love for the team's upbeat environment as they get ready for their T20 World Cup semifinal matchup against England. Rayudu was happy with what he saw during the players' Wednesday workout in Guyana.

He emphasised the bold approach to cricket that the Indian squad, captained by Rohit Sharma, had been taking. This strategy is demonstrated by Sharma's outstanding performance in the last match against Australia, where he scored 92 off 41 balls. Although India hasn't had much luck in previous ICC knockouts, Rayudu thinks that things could be different this time.

In an interview with Star Sports, Rayudu stated:

“There's a brilliant atmosphere in the Indian team. Everyone is quiet and composed. I think they are brilliantly prepared. Rohit has been calm as well and knows his role as well as that of others in the team. Whatever is controllable, they are controlling it brilliantly. The uncontrollable is a luck which ofcourse they will need. But I feel luck will favor India because of their selfless cricket.”

Rayudu got to talk to Rohit Sharma at the Indian captain's press conference. He was happy with Sharma's answers and complimented him for creating an appropriate and upbeat environment in the dressing room.

Rayudu also watched Virat Kohli's Wednesday practice session intently and was struck by the top batter's timing. Rayudu thinks Kohli, who has only hit 66 runs in the Twenty20 World Cup thus far, is close to a huge score against England. Rayudu said:

“The way he (Kohli) was hitting the ball and reading the length of the bowlers, especially the spinners, it just feels like a matter of time before he gets a big score. Just because he didn't score runs doesn't mean he is not in form. He just needs luck to go his way and I think the prayers of billions will make it happen.”

The match will start at 8:00 PM IST and the toss will be taking place 30 minutes before the anticipated game.
