Virat Kohli Explains To PM Modi How He Had To Let Go Of His Ego In T20 World Cup 2024

Virat Kohli opens up on his T20 World Cup struggles with PM Modi
Up until finals of T20 World Cup, Virat Kohli h endured a horrid tournament having only scored 75 runs in 8 innings. However, Virat Kohli turned around his fortunes in finals and played a match winning knock for Team India scoring 76 runs and was named player of match.

When talking with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Virat Kohli opened up on his struggles and revealed that going into game he wasn't confident at all.
“Thank you very much for calling us all here and this day will always remain in my mind because in this entire tournament, I was not able to make contribution that I wanted to and at one time I also told Rahul bhai that I have not given justice to both myself and team till now. So he told me that when situation comes, I am sure that you will come into form. So this conversation happened between us and when we went to play, I told Rohit, I did not have that much confidence that I would be able to bat way I wanted to,” revealed Virat Kohli.

Kohli furr revealed that when he smashed Marco Jansen three fours in first four balls of first over he was amazed by game. However, he h to let go of his ego and surrender to situation to rescue India from losing three wickets inside powerplay.

“I got 3 fours in first 4 balls, so I went and told him, what kind of a game is this, one day it seems that not even a single run will be scored and n anor day comes and everything starts happening. After our wickets fell, I realised I h to surrender myself to situation. I h to focus on what is more important for team. I felt that I was put into that zone and after game I realised what is meant to happen always happens. I am pleased I was able to help team reach that total”, revealed Virat Kohli to PM.
Virat Kohli's final performance will forever remain etched into Indian Cricket history and he retired from T20Is for India by becoming a World Champion and gifting nation trophy it so craved.
