During the India-Pakistan clash at Ahmedabad's Narendra Modi Stadium in the ongoing ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2023 on October 14, Virat Kohli seemed to ridicule Mohammad Rizwan for delaying the game by playfully looking at his wrist. It appeared as if Kohli was looking at a watch on his wrist despite not wearing one during the much-anticipated clash. Kohli was trying to mock Rizwan for wasting time.

Kohli mocks Rizwan for wasting time

After the dismissal of Imam-ul-Haq in the 13th over by Hardik Pandya, Rizwan walked out to bat at No. 4 for Pakistan. Kohli, who was not wearing a watch while fielding, pretended to check the time by glancing at his black wristband, indicating to Rizwan that he needed to hurry up to face the first ball of his innings. A video of the incident is doing rounds on social media. 

Kohli continued to "check" the imaginary time and gestured to Rizwan with his right hand on his waist, encouraging the wicketkeeper to speed up the game. Rizwan eventually faced a dot ball and got off the strike after three more deliveries. Earlier, Mohammed Siraj dismissed Pakistan opener Abdullah Shafique for 20 off 24 balls.  Meanwhile, Mohammed Siraj came back in the 30th over to remove Pakistan skipper Babar Azam, who was well set in the middle and had just reached his half-century. Azam was dismissed for 50 off 58 balls. Rizwan, on the other hand was also dismissed by Jasprit Bumrah before reaching his fifty

The match started with Indian captain Rohit Sharma winning the toss and electing to field first at Narendra Modi Stadium. Pakistan had a decent start with both openers taking the scoreline to 41 before they lost their maiden wicket. Mohammad Rizwan and Babar Azam then forged a crucial partnership but Siraj was called back to break that in the middle overs.
