'Jewel remains missing': Stuart Broad reminds Virat Kohli about 17 years of misery ahead of WC final

The T20 World Cup 2024 didn't turn out to be an ideal tournament for Virat Kohli. The star Indian batter has struggled to accumulate his usual T20 figures while batting at the top along with Rohit Sharma. Kohli will enter the Kensington Oval on Saturday with an unappealing cumulation of 75 runs after 7 matches. Despite being nowhere close to his standards, the aura of Virat Kohli is such that he is expected to come up with a big one during the India vs South Africa T20 World Cup 2024 final.

T20 World Cup: The only jewel missing from Virat Kohli's cabinet

From captain Rohit Sharma to head coach Rahul Dravid, Virat Kohli receives immense backing ahead of the IND vs SA T20 World Cup 2024 final. As if there was anybody left, the official Instagram handle of ICC is also expecting a Virat Kohli show in the highly anticipated finale. Showcasing Kohli sitting on a throne, ICC wrote, "The last jewel remains missing from the crown of the king. Virat Kohli is one step away from #T20WorldCup glory." The T20 World Cup remains the only international trophy missing from King Kohli's cabinet. He was a part of the team that won the ODI World Cup 2011 and also featured in the class of 2013 that won the Champions Trophy. Thus, the T20 World Cup is indeed the "last jewel" that is yet to be held by Virat Kohli.

Stuart Broad takes a dig at Virat Kohli

Witnessing the post, former England player Stuart Broad tried to take a swipe at Virat Kohli. Since ICC mentioned T20 World Cup as the last left trophy for Virat Kohli to win, Broad left a one-word comment and highlighted one more honor that Virat Kohli hasn't been able to get his hands on. It is the "IPL". Broad deleted his comment later. While it is a fact that Virat Kohli and RCB have not experienced a trophy-winning IPL season in the 17 years of existence of the tournament, at the end of the day IPL is a domestic competition and does not take anything away from his contribution to the international sphere.
