As the curtains fell on IPL 2024 another T20 extravaganza is right on cue as the much anticipated T20 World Cup 2024 is about to kick off from June 1st in USA and West Indies.

The world brings a tonne of storylines and one storyline which always remains constant is that of Australia's inevitable entrance as favourites. Heading into the 2024 T20 World Cup, the Aussies like always will be full of confidence given they are the current holders of the World Test Championships and the ODI World Cup 2023.

The most successful nation in ICC tournaments, the men from down under will look to continue their dominance at the World Stage and given their squad they are definitely one of the teams to beat in the tournament and another world cup glory might be beckoning for them.

This tournament, the Aussies will be led by new skipper in Mitchell Marsh while their balance of the squad remains pretty much the same and expected. Before unpacking the strongest XI for Australia in the T20 World Cup 2024 here is the squad for Australia.

It will be intriguing to see how ‘Bison’ Mitchell Marsh fares in his first world cup as a captain. The make of the side is pretty evenly balanced and has a lot of explosion and aggression from top to bottom.

The omission of Josh Hazlewood in the starting lineup is a tough one but there remains no doubt that Nathan Ellis could be the biggest X factor for Australia at the World Cup. His pace, variation and knack of taking wickets at the top and at death make him one of the hottest prospects at the World Cup.

Australia will kick start their World Cup campaign against Oman on 5th June and will face their eternal rivals in England on 8th June. They will face Namibia and Scotland in their remaining group stage fixtures.
