'You can't do this tuk-tuking’: PAK skipper Babar Azam's T20I form SLAMMED by Indian cricket legend

The Pakistani team captained by Babar Azam had an awful ride as they were unable to advance to the Super 8 round of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup in 2024. The Men in Green were severely embarrassed because they were unable to win against teams that played cricket together, such as the USA. Their survival against Canada and Ireland did not, by any means, strengthen their cause. Pakistan will have to withdraw and instead get ready for the Champions Trophy at home the next year, while the US advances to the Super 8. A former Indian cricket player publicly criticised the Pakistani captain after the team's campaign came to an end as they played their final group-stage match and were eliminated from the tournament.

Srikkanth absolutely lambasts Babar Azam! Claims he needs to retire from T20Is
Babar Azam's return to the captaincy role did not have a grand welcome as Pakistan were knocked out of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024. While in the US, the Men in Green failed to prevail against an associate cricket playing team in the United States. After PAK failed to defeat USA in the super over, they had a golden chance to avenge the loss against India, but they failed there as well. While they picked up wins against Canada and Ireland, it did not do any good to them as they failed to qualify for the Super 8. Amid the criticism, Kris Srikkanth went unhinged on the PAK skipper over his horrid form in the T20 WC.
"Babar Azam, I don't think he should be playing T20 cricket. Maybe a good/great Test cricketer. But I don't think he should be playing T20, in my opinion, frankly speaking. I mean, you can't do this ‘tuk-tuking’ all the time in T20 cricket.
"You talk about stats, they say 4000 runs - Babar, 4000 runs - Virat Kohli, 4000 runs - Rohit Sharma. Man, his strike rate is only 112-115! What are you talking about?” Srikkanth said.

Pakistan's disastrous performance against the USA and India after they wasted the opportunities that were presented to them put their hopes of winning an ICC title in jeopardy. However, the side led by Babar Azam was unable to withstand the obstacles that were thrown at them. While PAK ended their T20 World Cup campaign with a consoling victory over Ireland, it remains to be seen if they will attempt to make amends as they advance in the cricket competition.
