Having scored 1217 runs in 20 innings, Yashasvi Jaiswal stands at the cusp of making history for India. Jaiswal has the opportunity to become the fastest Indian batsman to breach the 2000-run mark.

Currently, the record has joint owners. Virender Sehwag and Rahul Dravid, who went on to become two of the greatest Indian Test batters, reached the 2000 stage in 40 innings. Jaiswal, at the rate which he has amassed runs, could take fewer than 40 innings to complete the 2000 runs in Test cricket.
