The young guns of Team India led by skipper Shubman Gill are currently stationed in Zimbabwe to play 5 T20Is against the home team. After enduring a shocking defeat in the opening match of the series, Shubman Gill's men levelled themselves up and handed a drubbing to the home side. India defeated Zimbabwe by 100 runs in the 2nd T20I of the series courtesy of their sublime batting and power hitting capabilities. Abhishek Sharma was the wreaker in chief for India as he notched up 100 runs off 47 deliveries.

The youngster took the Indian Premier League (IPL) by storm while playing for the Sunrisers Hyderabad. Abhishek while opening the batting for SRH with Aussie dasher Travis Head punished all the franchises with his power hitting capabilities. The youngster played 16 matches and scored a total of 484 runs and at a strike rate of 32.27. Sharma scored these runs at a staggering strike rate of 204.22 which was instrumental in his maiden callup to Team India.

Abhishek failed his first match for India as he couldn't get off the mark after playing 4 balls, but come the second T20I, Sharma let his bat to the talking as his power hitting left Sikandar Raza's high-spirited Zimbabwe team begging for answers. Abhishek's innings of 100 off 47 balls had 7 fours and 8 sixes which helped India end up on 234 in their quota of 20 odd overs. Kohli in particular showed a lot of confidence in the next crop of the players and the skills that they possess. India, without Rohit and Kohli in their first T20I faced a shocking defeat at the hands of Zimbabwe, but they returned in style and have now levelled the series by 1-1.
