CWG 2022: French fries and sausage selling at around ₹ 1,000 in Birmingham shocks netizens

A sporting fan posted a picture of the snacks he ordered during the ongoing Commonwealth Games 2022 in Birmingham that cost him around Rs 1,000.

Refreshments are one thing that fans can't resist when y are rey for some renaline rush during a sporting event. However, a recent instance of snacking at ongoing Commonwealth Games 2022 (CWG 2022) in Birmingham is hard to digest. Taking to Twitter, a sporting fan posted a picture of French fries and a saus that he ordered at games, for which he h to shell some heavy change. 

According to user named Matw Williams, just one pack of said items cost him 9.8 British pounds, which translates to around Rs 948. His encounter with this hardcore capitalism caused an avalanche of reactions on Twitter as many mocked appearance of snacks and of course, hefty price.

"Hello @FootyScran, this is saus and chips I h at Sandwell Leisure Centre ahe of tonight's swimming events at @birminghamcg22. This cost £9.80! (sic)", he wrote in his tweet. 

What's worth ting is his Twitter bio which says that he's a fan of England's Basford United club who is "undertaking a never-ending quest to find food perfection at football stiums".

Netizens react to Williams' 'quest to find food perfection'

picture raised a lot of confusion among netizens who were enquiring if 'blonde' looking fries were any good. "I think I’ve encountered blond chips being good once before - but whole saus and chip combo is just meh and saus looks dry. But I’m gl it wasn’t terrible (sic)," wrote one user. 

She was actually replying to Williams' tweet that revealed that despite fries looking 'anemic' y tasted pretty good "and saus, although fairly aver on taste, was apparently award winning".

"You were robbed", wrote ar Twitter user to whom Williams replied, "Technically I wasn't, as it wasn't me that paid for it! *LOL* (sic)". "I thought Birmingham was in 'Wet Chip Belt'?  sauce?", one user questioned.

Despite all presumptions by Twitteratis, Williams reiterated that snacks weren't that b "even at that price". "If y were b chips i'd happily call m out, but in this instance y genuinely weren't", one of his tweets re.
