Daniil Dubov beats Hikaru Nakamura to win chess' Rapid Challenge

Daniil Dubov won chess' Rapid Challenge - and booked his place at the Magnus Carlsen Chess Tour Final - by beating fellow grandmaster Hikaru Nakamura in a deciding Armageddon tiebreaker on Wednesday.

Japanese-born American Nakamura, who knocked Carlsen out in the semi-finals, won the first of the final's three mini-matches on Monday.

But Dubov of Russia fought back on Tuesday to force a deciding mini-match, which was level at 2-2 after four games - one win and two draws apiece.

Nakamura played as black in the Armageddon game and a draw would have been enough to seal the title, but it was Dubov who claimed victory and $45,000 US dollars in prize money.
