Donald Trump's first pitch during the Yankees game on August 15 was announced last week but the US President quickly cancelled it on Sunday.

Days anuncing on Twitter that he will be throwing first pitch on August 15 ahe of New York Yankees vs Boston Red Sox game, Trump backtracked on his initial tweet to cancel said first pitch. According to New York Times, though, both pieces of news came as a surprise to Yankees.

According to report, Donald Trump was t happy after he was snubbed for Dr Anthony Fauci to throw ceremonial first pitch. So much so, that he confirmed during a White House briefing that he would be throwing  first pitch during Yankees game on August 15. news reportedly came as a surprise to Trump's staff as well as Yankees, who h little kwledge of Trump's plan to throw first pitch. Yankees President Randy Levine is said to be a good friend of Donald Trump and h reportedly extended an open invitation for Trump in past to throw out first pitch. However, New York Times reports thing h been finalised between two parties.

While Trump's news was just being digested by MLB, Trump threw ar curveball after he tweeted out on Sunday stating he would be cancelling first pitch due to his or commitments amid coronavirus pandemic, or as Trump quotes: " China virus".
