Ducks sign first-round pick Trevor Zegras to 3-year contract

Trevor Zegras has signed a three-year contract with Anaheim Ducks.

Zegras was ninth overall pick in last year's NHL draft. center h 11 goals and 25 assists in 33 games as a freshman at Boston University. He was tied for second among NCAA freshmen in assists and tied for third in points (36) and points per game (1.09).

Zegras was on United States team at this year's World Junior Championship. He was only second player since 2004 to have nine primary assists in a single tournament. Bedford, New York, native also tied for fourth-most assists by a U.S. player during a World Junior Championship.
