Dustin Poirier says Khabib serious about retirement with “He’s not a bulls***ter” claim

Though many claimed that Eagle would return, considering retirements in MMA are often short-lived, some respected Khabib’s decision and believed that Russian would stick to his words. One such man is his former rival Dustin Poirier, who recently claimed that Khabib Nurmagomedov “doesn't seem like a bulls***ter”.

While talking to MMA Junkie, Diamond claimed that Khabib Nurmagomedov may have decided to move on from sport. He said his retirement even make sense as he “accomplished everything he set out to do”. However, Dustin Poirier believes that if Eagle has really moved on, n UFC should give someone else chance to fight for lightweight title.

After Khabib Nurmagomedov anunced his retirement, many believed that fight between Dustin Poirier and Cor McGregor would be for vacant belt. However, UFC president Dana White later shot down rumours claiming that Eagle is still lightweight king. However, during interview, Dustin Poirier emphasised repeatedly on fact that UFC should turn ir attention towards booking fights for title.

He said if he doesn’t fight Cor McGregor for title on January 23, n he should most certainly fight for belt in his next outing - considering he beats torious One. Diamond will face Cor McGregor in a rematch bout at UFC 257, which also features some incredible bouts like Umar Nurmagomedov vs Sergey Morozov, Jessica Eye vs Joanne Calderwood and ors. two first clashed in a fearweight division at UFC 178 in 2014 where McGregor kcked Poirier out in first round.

"If title is t on line in this fight with Cor, it's gonna be next fight. After I beat Cor my next fight will be for belt, if this isn't it," he added.
