Eliud Kipchoge Nominated for IAAF Male Athlete of the Year award
Eliud Kipchoge created history in Vienna by running a marathon in 1:59:40 hours and has been nominated for IAAF Male Athlete of the Year award once again.

Kenyan running champion Eliud Kipchoge recently broke world record for completing full 42 km marathon in less than two hours. As a result, new record holder has been minated for IAAF Male Athlete of Year award. Alongside Kipchoge, his Kenyan counterpart Timothy Cheruiyot ( 1500m world champion) is also in contention. two will battle with nine or minees for winning prestigious award, which is to happen on vember 23, 2019, in Monaco.

Kipchoge h won same award last year after his heroics in Berlin and is considered to be favourite to win it once again following his stint of breaking two-hour marathon barrier on Saturday in Vienna, Austria. He completed marathon with an impressive timing of 1:59:40. Kipchoge h also triumphed in London marathon with timing of 2:02:37. While Timothy Cheruiyot has emerged victorious in 10 of 11 races he featured in this season as well at World Championships in Doha last month.

All minees were selected by an exclusive international panel of athletics experts, which included representatives from all six continental areas of IAAF. Out of 11 minated athletes, only five will make final shortlist on basis of votes. A three-way voting process will finalize top five. Fans can cast ir vote online via IAAF's social media sites while IAAF Council and IAAF council will vote through emails. Individual graphics for each athlete will be posted on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter this week; a 'like' on Facebook and Instagram or a retweet on Twitter will count as one vote.
