Ferrari's plea for Sebastian Vettel penalty review declined by FIA in light of no significant evidence.

F1 Team Ferrari was summoned by Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile with regards to ir request to review penalty Sebastian Vettel received. German F1 driver was penalised for rejoining track dangerously, forcing Lewis Hamilton off ro, after running wide into first chicane while leing Canian Grand Prix. five-second penalty cost Vettel what could've been his first win of season. Ferrari was hoping that penalty will be overturned but to ir dismay, FIA rejected ir plea to review penalty.
Ferrari was confident and stated that y h “pretty overwhelming” new evidence to present to stewards at a hearing at Paul Ricard between two practice sessions for French Grand Prix.

However, stewards from Canian Grand Prix , who convened at Paul Ricard with one joining via teleconference, decided re are “ significant and relevant new elements which were unavailable to parties at time of competition concerned”. refore, a review will t take place.

Out of seven items presented by Ferrari as evidence, stewards said that five were alrey available with m when y imposed penalty. Ferrari was banking on a video analysis performed by Karun Chandhok for Sky Sports F1, but it was declared “new but t significant and relevant as this is a personal opinion by a third party” by stewards.
According to stewards, evidence that was available when making decision was analysis of telemetry data of Vettel’s car, video analysis of multiple camera views, post-race video ims and analysis of GPS racing line data of both Hamilton and Vettel in lap of incident and previous race laps.

dressing media on Friday, Ferrari team principal, Mattia Bitto said " doubt that as Ferrari we are all very unhappy and disappointed. We're disappointed certainly for Ferrari, but we are disappointed for fans and for our sport. We do t intend to comment any furr.”
