Floyd Mayweather slams Conor McGregor for retiring with 'waiting to punish you' comment
Conor McGregor retires: Floyd Mayweather trolled the UFC superstar for retiring by making a comment on the Irish celebrity's recent Instagram post.

While ‘Cor McGregor retirement’ news has seemingly disheartened a lot of UFC fans and MMA veterans, undefeated boxer and former foe Floyd Maywear mocked Irish celebrity by commenting on his recent Instagram post, which has alrey garnered a lot of attention. Cor McGregor anunced his retirement via Twitter, followed by a social media post that showcases a baked cake with “Happy retirement ddy” written over it. However, Floyd Maywear apparently ruined it for Cor McGregor by trolling him in comments section.

Floyd Maywear mocks Cor McGregor retirement on social media
Earlier this year, Cor McGregor stated that he would defeat Floyd Maywear if y ever square off for second time in ir respective careers. A rematch between m was also in cards. However, Cor McGregor retirement story has seemingly put water on possibilities of Maywear vs McGregor 2 and has also deprived Dana White from ar blockbuster cross-promotion event.
Floyd Maywear took himself to comments section and wrote, “If I am t mistaken, didn’t you (Cor McGregor) tell Mike Tyson you would beat me if we fought a second time? w you are quitting! I thought you wanted to beat best? Well, if you decide to come back, I will be waiting to punish you again”. However, Cor McGregor is yet to respond to that. Although Cor McGregor is yet to be released officially from UFC, he appears to have disheartened a lot of his fans by anuncing his retirement very early.

Is Floyd Maywear returning?
Floyd Maywear was about to return in action in 2020, as he teased two potential bouts opposite Floyd Maywear and Cor McGregor on his return. However, two back-to-back deaths in family forced undefeated boxer to postpone his plans. A few days back, Floyd Maywear was spotted in an intense sparring session with WBC lightweight champion Devin Haney, which apparently signalled his comeback to ring.

After his recent comment on Cor McGregor’s post, it can be assumed that Floyd Maywear was actually looking for a return against ‘ torious’. However, “Maywear vs McGregor 2” is unlikely to happen after Cor McGregor’s retirement call out. Although Floyd Maywear has vowed of “punishing” Irish fighter if he ever comes back, Cor McGregor is yet to respond to boxing great.
