Ander Herrera: Football is ‘not most important thing’ at Man United
Former Manchester United midfielder, Ander Herrera, questioned United's priorities and said that football was considered the most important thing at the club

Former Manchester United midfielder, Ander Herrera, recently questioned the priorities at United and stated that football was considered the most important thing at one of the most successful English club. Having played for the Red Devils for a period of 5 years, Herrera was of the opinion that the club has lost focus and is failing to prioritize on things that really matter and would help the club get back up on its feet.
Football ‘not the most important thing’ at Man United
Ander said that he was really happy playing for Manchester United but there were times when he felt that football was being neglected and not being considered as the most important thing. In an interview, the midfielder was asked a question if minting profit was the most important thing at the club to which he replied that this particular answer will not come out from his mouth.
After having signed for Paris Saint-German, Herrera said that he did not want to compare the two clubs but added that after coming to PSG, he felt as if he was breathing football on all sides and said that he liked the feeling.

'United were late'
Ander Herrera joined the Ligue 1 team on a 5-year-deal that ended his 5-year stay at the Theatre of Dreams. The midfielder joined PSG after the United failed to agree to new terms over a new deal. Herrera made 189 appearances for Manchester United and regularly featured on the team sheet under Solskjaer but blamed the United board for letting his contract run down.
He further added that Ole did a lot for him to stay at Old Trafford but failed to convince the board and by the time United came to him with a new contract, it was too late as he had already had a verbal agreement with the French club.

A difficult time for Manchester United
Ed Woodward has been subject to intense criticism during the past few seasons as Manchester United has witnessed an appalling deterioration in their performances since Sir Alex Ferguson retired in the year 2013, something that was not at all expected out of the Red Devils.

With pressure mounting on the former player and current United manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, it is a matter of time before it can be proved whether Ole is capable of steering the Red Devils back to their winning ways and is he capable of making the players play the Manchester United way. Manchester United next play against 8th placed Brighton on November 10 in a league match to be played at Old Trafford.
