Andre Gomes thanks Everton supporters and colleagues after surgery

After his season-ending ankle injury, Andre Gomes has spoke out publicly for the first time. The midfielder thanked Everton supporters for all the support.

Everton midfielder Andre Gomes was on receiving end of a nasty tackle from Tottenham Hotspur star Son Heung-Min at Goodison Park on weekend. In a bid to win ball against Evertonian in Premier League tie, Son unleashed a rar rash tackle on Gomes as he came running in from behind. Serge Aurier came charging on Gomes from or direction and whole situation resulted in a nasty collision. Gomes ended up fracturing his ankle in this freak accident and w faces a lengthy spell on sidelines.

Post freak accident, Son appeared to be distraught as he h tears running down his cheeks. Aurier, who was also part of incident, was also pictured praying after he seen Gomes' condition on pitch. Euro 2016 winner received a lot of support and positive motivation post injury on social media from fans and colleagues. Andre Gomes is expected to make a full recovery ahe of start of next season.

Meanwhile, Son Heung-Min returned to action on Wednesday night as his Tottenham side won by four goals in ir UEFA Champions League encounter against Red Star Belgre away from home. Korean forward scored a brace but refused to make any extravagant celebrations out of respect for Gomes. A true gentleman!
