Argentina advances to Copa America summit clash as Messi scores his 109th goal vs CAN in semifinal

Lionel Messi led Argentina to the Copa America Final as they eclipsed Canada and powered through in the competition. Leo was missing out from action as he did not play in the preceding match against Ecuador. But Messi was seen in action against Canada, and he did a fine job as the Argentinian side outpaced Canada to secure a place in the summit clash.

Lionel Messi has made history he made his appearance at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey as Argentina faced off against Canada at the Copa America semifinal. ARG won clean against Canada as they secured a 2-0 lead at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. A capacity crowd came out to see Messi in action as Coach Scaloni offered the vital update of Leo set to be in action against CAN. The semifinal game was vital as it would have sealed the fate of a team that could move into the Copa America summit clash.
One of Argentina's goals came from Julian Alvarez as a De Paul assist allowed him to net a score, with ARG taking a 1-0 lead. The next strike came off Lionel Messi after Enzo hit the shot and Leo hit the toe as the ball went to the back of the net.
It was a big night for Messi after he scored his inaugural coal in the CONMEBOL competition after he became the second-highest international goalscorer n the planet, surpassing Iran's Ali Daei.
There was a lot of criticism directed against the host countries' stadium pitches. The artificial grass field at MetLife Stadium looked heavy, causing sand to show during dribbles and water to splash.

On the eve of its independence, Argentina extended their winning run to ten games. When the Albiceleste plays Uruguay or Colombia on Sunday at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida, they hope to win a record amount of 16 Copa America titles and extend their dominance all over.
