Niko Kovac was sacked following the club’s 1-5 loss against Eintracht Frankfurt. Overall, the team has failed to replicate their previous season's performance this time. Hansi Flick has been appointed as the club's interim manager.
Arsene Wenger spent 12 years at Arsenal. During his time at the Emirates, he won three Premier League titles and seven FA Cup trophies. The club qualified for the UEFA Champions League for 20 years in a row under his tenure. The Frenchman's man-management skills and experience in handling star-studded dressing rooms could work in his favour and is something that the Bavarians are looking for. He has been away from management since leaving North London at the end of the 2017/18 season but has also reportedly expressed his desire to return back to management.

Mourinho is also in the fray
Wenger’s Premier League rival Jose Mourinho is also being considered as one of the favourites to take over at the Allianz Arena. But Wenger, 70, wants to bring an end to his own 18-month exile from coaching. He was also offered a technical role by FIFA a couple of months back, but the Frenchman is desperate to get back into management and insists that he is ready for a managerial role.
