Tottenham have recently had a tough run as far as results are concerned. Last week, Spurs gave away a 0-2 lead to draw 2-2 against Olympiacos FC in their opening UEFA Champions League tie. They followed that up with another disappointing outing against Leicester City in the Premier League. After taking a lead through Harry Kane's goal, Spurs allowed the Foxes to score two goals in the dying stages of the game to lose the match by a scoreline of 2-1. Carabao Cup 2019: Colchester vs Tottenham Hotspur match preview

Tottenham Hotspur will look to get back to winning ways as they take on Colchester on Wednesday in their opening Carabao Cup fixture. Mauricio Pochettino will give a chance to Spurs youngsters Oliver Skipp, Troy Parrott and Kyle Walker-Peters to impress in the Carabao Cup encounter. Another youngster, Joseph Tanganga, may also make his Spurs debut as Pochettino offers some much-needed rest to the senior players. 

The two sides have met once in the past. Spurs ran out winners by a scoreline of 4-1 at Colchester in the 2015-16 FA Cup. Colchester will hope that they can pull off an upset in Wednesday’s Carabao Cup fixture. However, they will be going up against a hurting Tottenham side, who will be eager to get back to winning ways.
