Carabao Cup: United beat Chelsea at Stamford Bridge thanks to a powerful free-kick by Marcus Rashford to book a place in the quarterfinals of the tournament

Manchester United manr named a very strong line-up for clash against Chelsea while his compatriot Frank Lampard handed starts to a few youngsters as he rmally does. home side, however, got tactics wrong as y struggled to break down United's defence in entire first half. United lead when Rashford scored his first of match from spot in 25th minute after Daniel James was clumsily brought down by Marcus Alonso.

second half showed much more intent from Chelsea as y were chasing an equaliser. ir sustained pressure was rightly rewarded when Harry Maguire got it wrong and Michy Batshuayi pounced to make a terrific solo run before firing ball into back of net. But, game was t even close to being over as Rashford scored aforementioned beauty to put visitors back ahead. This proved to be a final blow to Chelsea and y crashed out of tournament. As for United, y are into quarterfinals of tournament along with Liverpool and Manchester City.
