Ceferin 'confident' UEFA can deal with coronavirus threat to Euro 2020

UEFA President Aleksander Ceferin said he is ''confident we can deal with' the current coronavirus outbreak as he spoke at the UEFA Congress on Tuesday in Amsterdam.

UEFA President Aleksander Ceferin said he is ''confident we can deal with' current coronavirus outbreak as he spoke at UEFA Congress on Tuesday in Amsterdam.

Ceferin and UEFA general secretary odore odoridis were asked wher contingency plans had been put in place to move Euro 2020 matches this summer to different cities or different countries.

odoridis said: "We do t want to start speculating at this st. We want to deal with it seriously, case by case, involving correct stakeholders. We do t want to speculate what will happen in three or four months' time.

"We are addressing situation already by making contact with WHO and different governments as well. We have ackwledged situation but we do t want to over-react. We have created a line of contact."

Ceferin said he wanted to be "optimistic" that Euros would go ahead as planned.
