Champions League: Manchester City and PSG dominate matchday 3; review
Matchday three of the UEFA Champions League saw plenty of action across Europe. Man City, PSG and Liverpool dominated proceedings in their high-scoring wins.

Goals, goals, and more goals. If ever there was a Champions League matchday that needed a title, it was matchday three. Three teams have maintained a perfect win record so far Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich and Manchester City. In all, seven teams are unbeaten in the group stage so far, with Atletico Madrid, Juventus, Napoli and Barcelona joining the aforementioned clubs. 151 goals have been scored across the three matchdays, with an average of 3.15 goals per game.

Matchday three started off with a bang, as Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain secured dominating wins against Atalanta and Club Brugge respectively with Raheem Sterling and Kylian Mbappe both bagging hat-tricks. Bayern Munich and Juventus also made the headlines due to some stunning strikes from Corentin Tolisso and Paulo Dybala. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Erling Braut Haaland also came to the party during the second half of matchday three. Red Bull Salzburg's young Norwegian striker, Haaland became the first player to score six goals in his first three Champions League appearances as he scored two goals during Salzburg's 3-2 loss against Napoli. His brace takes the young Norwegian's tally up to six in the Champions League so far. Liverpool's Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain entertained the crowd in Genk by scoring a screamer with the outside of his foot during Liverpool's 4-1 win over Genk.

Bayern Munich have scored the most number of goals so far, netting 13 goals in their three group games. Seven of those came in their victory away at Tottenham on matchday two. The Bavarian giants needed a brace from their top scorer Robert Lewandowski, as they laboured to a 3-2 win over Olympiacos on Tuesday night. Real Madrid were also saved by the scruff of their neck as Toni Kroos netted the solitary goal in the Madrid's win over Galatasaray. Liverpool were back to their best after a nervy 4-3 win over Red Bull Salzburg on matchday two.

Matchday three's numbers
After the round of fixtures in matchday three, Erling Braut Haaland sits on top of the scoring charts with six goals, followed by Lewandowski with five. Liverpool striker Roberto Firmino leads the assist charts with four assists so far. That's all in the Champions League so far. Europe's premier club competition will return on November 5 when Barcelona host Slavia Prague that night, along with Red Bull Leipzig's visit to Zenit St. Petersburg.
