Chelsea coach Frank Lampard imposes strict fines on his young squad, claims report

Frank Lampard has imposed a strict list of fines on his young and talented Chelsea squad with sanctions ranging from £500 to £20,000 for various infractions.

Chelsea have been in terrific form in the Premier League this season having made their way to third in the league standings behind Liverpool and Leicester City. A lot of the credit for Chelsea's improved display lies in the hand of newly appointed coach Frank Lampard. The former Chelsea midfielder came in from Derby County in order to replace the outgoing Maurizio Sarrio who left for Juventus. A recent image leaked out from Chelsea's training center at Stamford Bridge which gave fans an insight on the strict fine structure imposed by Frank Lampard on his young and talented Chelsea squad.

As per reports in The Guardian, Frank Lampard had imposed a £20,000 for being late for the start of training. In addition to that, players will also be fined £500 for every minute they are late to team meetings. The gaffer also asked his squad to report any illness or injury before a day off or an hour-and-a-half before training or else they can expect a £10,000 fine. Additionally, lateness for treatment, medical appointments or matchday departure will cost £2,500.

Lampard Fines

A phone ringing during a team meal or meeting will set a Chelsea player back £1,000, as will wearing the wrong clothing for team travel or matchdays. The report further states that the fines, if not paid within a time period of 14 days, will be doubled. The income generated from these penalties going towards team activities and charities.
