Chelsea In Talks With Atletico Madrid For Shock Return Of Ex-Blues Star

Chelsea are enjoying a very busy summer transfer window with the latest signing of Wolves and Portugal winger Pedro Neto being their 10th new signing of the summer. The way Chelsea has been conducting business this summer has puzzled many fans as to how they are managing the amount of new signings without any significant departures. 

As it turns out, Chelsea aren't done doing business yet this Summer, as they are in discussions with Atletico Madrid to bring back ex-Chelsea player in a shocking transfer development. 

Chelsea in talks to bring back star player

In a shocking transfer development, it has been reported that Chelsea are in serious talks with Atletico Madrid to bring star player Joao Felix back to Stamford Bridge. 

Joao Felix had joined Chelsea on a six month loan back in January 2023, however in the Summer the club opted not to extend his Stamford Bridge stay as then manager Mauricio Pochettino didn't consider him as part of plans. Felix spent a year on loan at Barcelona last season but as it turns out, Chelsea now want the Portuguese forward back into their club.

This development comes after Chelsea's attempt to sign Spanish forward Samu Omorodion collapsed. According to Fabrizio Romano, Atletico Madrid have closed in on signing midfielder Conor Gallagher from the Blues and London based club are discussing the inclusion of Joao Felix into the deal.

As per Fabrizio Romano, Joao Felix's agent Jorge Mendes is in London to decide his client's future while direct talks are taking place between the clubs. 

Joao Felix was sent off in his debut for Chelsea back in January after a studs up challenge against Fulham. However, he did Chelsea fans over with his playmaking in his 20 appearances for the club.
