Sunil Chhetri chosen for FIFA campaign against COVID-19 along with likes of Messi

Talismanic India football captain Sunil Chhetri has been picked by FIFA along with 28 past and present stars for world governing body's awareness campaign to combat COVID-19 pandemic. FIFA and World Health Organization (WHO) have teamed up to combat coronavirus by launching a new awareness campaign led by world-rewned footballers, who are calling on all people around world to follow five key steps to stop spread of disease. 'Pass mess to kick out coronavirus' campaign promotes five key steps for people to follow to protect ir health in line with WHO guidance, focused on hand washing, coughing etiquette, t touching your face, physical distance and staying home if feeling unwell.

28 players, who will be involved in video campaign to be published in 13 langus, include some of best kwn players like Argentine superstar Lionel Messi and World Cup winners like Philip Lahm, Iker Casillas and Carles Puyol. 

"FIFA and its President Gianni Infanti have been actively involved in passing mess against this pandemic since very beginning," said WHO Director-General Dr Tedros Adham Ghebreyesus at virtual launch of campaign at WHO headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland. 

"Be it through campaigns or funding, FIFA has stood up to coronavirus, and I am delighted that world football is supporting WHO to kick out coronavirus. I have doubt with this type of support that toger we will win," he ssaid in a FIFA release.

FIFA President Gianni Infanti said: "We need teamwork to combat coronavirus. FIFA has teamed up with WHO because health comes first. I call upon football community worldwide to join us in supporting this campaign to pass mess even furr.  "Some of greatest players to have played beautiful game have put ir names to campaign and are united in ir desire to pass mess to kick out COVID-19."
