Colombian player scores outrageous solo goal, toys with half a team before mercifully knocking it in

It was a breathtaking and spell-bound sight for football fans, as a youngster took on five defenders and went past them to also beat the goalkeeper to send the ball ricocheting into the nets, taking many fans down their memory lane when young Lionel Messi did the same.

It was a breathtaking and spell-bound sight for football fans, as a youngster took on five defenders and went past them to also beat the goalkeeper to send the ball ricocheting into the nets, taking many fans down their memory lane when young Lionel Messi or veteran Ronaldinho did the same. 

Anderson Diaz, a youngster who plays for Norte de Santander in Colombia's Under-21 national championship, produced a magic solo goal in the 55th minute that left most football fans shocked, breathless and out of their minds. Diaz is seen gaining control of the ball near the halfway line following which he runs amock. The young footballer dribbled past five defenders, beat the goalkeeper and faked past another defender to score a goal for his side.

The strike, which fans on social media called 'Maradonian', was not decisive though as the visitors went on to lose 3-2 to the hosts Santander.
