Al Nassr's start in the final was less than ideal, finding themselves trailing by a goal during the first half. However, a pivotal moment came in the 74th minute when Cristiano Ronaldo netted a goal, altering the course of the match. The match-winning goal was struck in the 98th minute, also by Ronaldo. 

Ronaldo's brace elevated his tournament goal count to seven, and his jubilant celebration mirrored that of a child, underscoring the significance of leading the Saudi club to this historic victory. Notably, this achievement marked Ronaldo's first title win with Al Nassr since his remarkable transfer to the club in January earlier this year.

Ronaldo's lucrative deal, reportedly exceeding $200 million annually, was inked in December 2022. This marked the initial step in Saudi Arabia's strategic bid to enhance its football league's appeal by enticing prominent players with lucrative contracts. While Lionel Messi rejected an offer that purportedly doubled Ronaldo's earnings, other notable names like Karim Benzema, Roberto Firmino, N'Golo Kanté, Edouard Mendy, Ruben Neves, and Jota were more open to the proposition.
