'So Unselfish': Cristiano Ronaldo LAUDED for unselfish assist to Bruno Fernandez in Euro 2024

Portugal faced Turkey in Euro 2024 clash at Dortmund and despite failing to score in the encounter, Portugal captain Cristiano Ronaldo ended up winning a lot of hearts of football fans once again this time through an extremely unselfish act. 

Cristiano Ronaldo in the 58th minute of the game was sent through on goal. He could've easily scored to take Portugal to the score of 3-0 however, Ronaldo decided to square the ball to Bruno Fernandez who scored into the open net and made the score 3-0. It was an extremely unselfish gesture by Ronaldo and the Portuguese captain was rightfully lauded by fans on Social Media for his gesture.

Cristiano Ronaldo's assist has been lauded by fans on Social Media. They were of the opinion that an assist like that is huge for a team's moral going further into the tournament. 

Portugal beats Turkey 3-0 despite Ronaldo not scoring

In a very unselfish gesture, Cristiano Ronaldo could have scored the goal but instead ended up providing the assist to Bruno Fernandez for the goal.

In doing so Cristiano Ronaldo has now become the first player in Euro history with most goals in the competition and the most assists in the competition.

Ronaldo might be more unhappy at failing to score against a Turkey team that was its own worst enemy at times.

Not least in the 28th minute when, trailing 1-0 to Bernardo Silva’s strike seven minutes earlier, Turkey center back Samet Akaydin delivered a back-pass that rolled to the side of his goalkeeper and straight into the net.

Portugal backed up its opening 2-1 victory over the Czech Republic and has qualified with a match to spare from Group F.
