Cristiano Ronaldo's selfie with tearful pitch invader goes viral on social media

Juventus and Portugal star Cristiano Ronaldo showed his class when he took a selfie with a fan during a match last week. Portugal played Lithuania in the Euro 2020 Qualifier match, defeating them 6-0. Ronaldo scored a hat-trick for his side and followed it with another goal in his side's 2-0 win over Luxembourg on Sunday.

During the Lithuania match, a pitch invader barged on to the pitch during a break in play, wearing Ronaldo’s Juventus jersey. The invader was being chased by the stadium security officials. However, Ronaldo stopped the officials and posed for a selfie with the fan. The fan was seen in tears after meeting his idol, as he posed for a selfie with the five-time Ballon D'Or winner. The fan himself posted photos of the incident on social media.

Ronaldo stands on 99 international goals
Cristiano Ronaldo scored his 55th career hat-trick in the Lithuania game. The forward's hat-trick ensured was key in Portugal going to secure Euro 2020 qualification. Ronaldo is now only one goal away from becoming the second man in the history of football to touch the 100-goal-mark in international matches.

His recent hat-trick takes his tally to 9 for Portugal and he has shown no signs of the knee problems, which has seemingly hampered his playing time at Juventus in recent weeks. In the Lithuania match, the intrusion of the fan did not seem to affect Ronaldo's focus. He scored his opener from the penalty spot and then went on to score the second with a trademark strike from a long distance before completing his hat-trick with a finish from within the box.
