Al-Nassr embraces Cristiano Ronaldo as the GOAT of world football
Al-Nassr paid a great homage to Cristiano Ronaldo before their game against Al-Ahli, honouring his 900 career goals attained during the international break.
Ronaldo made news during the international break by netting his 900th career goal in Portugal's Nations League game against Croatia. Returning to his team, Al-Nassr, the 39-year-old was given a special 'GOAT' jersey emblazoned with the number 900 before their Saudi Pro League game against Al-Ahli. The stands also had an amazing display stating "900 goals" and “only heroes achieve glory.”

Although Ronaldo's most recent milestone marks yet another chapter in his legendary career, he has indicated a want for further successes before retiring. Before calling his career farewell, Portugal's national team coach, Roberto Martinez, and player Ruben Neves have both speculated that Ronaldo would score 1,000 goals.
Ronaldo scored 450 goals during his tenure at Real Madrid, hence a good fraction of his 900 goals came there. His score for Manchester United is 145; for Portugal is 131; for Juventus, it is 101; for Al-Nassr it is 68; and for Sporting five. Given his goal scoring ability, CR7 never shied away from dominating the country he ever went in to play the sport. From ruling England with Manchester, to ruling Spain and the world with Real Madrid to enjoying his domination in Italy with Juventus, to now creating records at Al-Nassr.

Apart from winning the 2023 Arab Club Champions Cup, Ronaldo has failed to grab official team medals with Al-Nassr despite his scoring ability. After Al-Hilal last year almost missed out on the Saudi Pro League championship, he wants to add to his trophy collection this season. Well, it is important to note that Al-Nassr has not made any significant changes to improve their squad for this season and is likely to solely depend on Cristiano Ronaldo.
Al-Nassr will now face Al-Shorta on Monday, September 16, 2024, in the AFC Champions League Elite.
